Discussing Artificial Intelligence
Dear subscriber,
no one answers questions of social significance on their own. This
applies even more to the impact of breakthrough technologies such as
Artificial Intelligence (AI). When it comes
to using AI in the working world, great opportunities happen to be
emerging; but are all points of view being taken into account? We want
to illuminate AI from as many different angles as possible and discuss
it with others. These discussions will be taking place namely at our
two-day conference “Algorithms, automation, and work” on 19
and 20 May.
We want to discuss questions concerning the application of AI in
operational practice, scientific analysis, and governance – particularly
against the backdrop of the proposed AI regulation recently tabled by
the European Commission. The conference programmewill be live-streamed with audience
participation in German. We’re looking forward to welcoming you and to
experiencing some lively debate!
The Policy Lab at re:publica
On the following day, 21 May, the focus will be on civic
innovation: from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., this year’s re:publica
will be looking at ways initiatives, projects, and communities can work
together to create a living AI innovation network for the benefit of
the common good.
Three ministries are setting the ball rolling by linking central
infrastructures: BMAS has set up the “Civic Coding – Innovation
Network for AI for the Common Good” initiative in conjunction with the
Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear
Safety (BMU) and the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs,
Senior Citizens, Women and Youth (BMFSFJ). More information are available at www.civic-coding.de.
This is also where you will find the live stream of the conference on 21
May.
We’re looking forward to discussing AI with you at our conferences.
Cordially,
The Policy Lab Team
